Born in 1969, Britt Das spent her childhood on Terschelling, an island off the coast of the Netherlands. She studied Design at the Fashion Academy of Amsterdam and has been a resident of Amsterdam ever since. Over the past 20 years she exhibited annually in the Netherlands and published the book Colour & Sound. Her work is bold, abstract & dynamic. She works with acrylic paint and uses numerous tools to create layers in paint like sponges, fabric and palette knives. These layering painted canvases become abstract landscapes of emotions. Britt loves to work in series. Her latest canvases are made with metallic paint. These monochrome works in Copper, Silver, Pearl and Brass are still a work in proces.
